Therapy vs. Coaching: What’s the Difference?
Both therapy and coaching provide support — but they serve different purposes.
Therapy focuses on mental health treatment, emotional healing, and processing past or ongoing challenges. As a licensed clinical social worker, therapy allows me to diagnose and treat mental health concerns and provide clinical care. Due to licensing laws, I can only provide therapy to clients located in the state of Georgia. Therapy services may be eligible for insurance reimbursement depending on your plan.
Coaching is future-focused and action-oriented. Coaching is designed for personal growth, emotional support during life transitions, and building tools to move forward with clarity and confidence. Coaching does not involve diagnosis or mental health treatment, and it is not covered by insurance. Because it is not clinical therapy, coaching is available nationwide.
If you’re unsure which option fits your needs, I’m happy to help guide you toward the right support.
